        Who we are...

  Our Mission is to...

Connect with God through His Creation

Love God and others through serving the community

Serve those less fortunate with the harvest

Share God's love with others in word and deed

New Summit Church has launched a 200 x 50 foot community garden on the church property (1800 NE Independence Ave., Lee's Summit, MO, near I470 and Colbern Road) in the Spring of 2010.  The focus of the garden project is to connect with and serve those people in the community of Lee's Summit, MO who are in need of assistance.  We plan to accomplish this by partnering with them in the garden, teaching and working side by side with the goal of meeting their immediate needs through the harvest, as well as providing the tools and skills to help them long term.  We will also donate large portions of fresh produce to local food banks for distribution.

2010 crop season plans: beets, lettuce, peas, radish, spinach, turnips, potatoes, okra, beans, corn, cucumbers, squash, onions, broccoli, cabbage, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers.

The following is a list of immediate needs:

Our wish list is: hand tools, rakes, garden trowels, shovels, pitchforks, wheel barrows, bulb planters, cultivators/tillers (any size would be a great help), seeds, fertilizer, insecticide, concrete reinforcing 6x6 wire, garden fencing, livestock panels, steel posts, mini green houses to place over transplants, gardening gloves, large buckets, etc.

Community Garden Applications for the 2010 season are now closed. For future seasons, Click here for an application.

Any donation, in any form, is greatly appreciated!

All donations will be noted through New Summit Church and are tax deductible.  A "thank you" section will be posted below in addition to the weekly bulletin of the names of the business who donated.
